Located a few blocks from downtown Craig at the corner of Green and Seventh streets, Sunset Elementary School sits in the heart of the community.

Constructed in 1955, the school had building additions in 1960 and 1978.

The School was rated average in the Colorado School Accountability Report for the 2005-2006 school year.

Sunset, which serves students in kindergarten through the fourth grade, features an auditorium, gymnasium, library, computer center and music room.

The staff at Sunset Elementary School concentrates on reading and writing skills along with mathematics.

In addition to the core curriculum, Sunset offers speech therapy, special education and counseling to students.

The school's mission is to provide children at Sunset Elementary School with a good educational foundation to help them succeed as they continue through school.
