Hayden High School, 495 W. Jefferson Ave., was built in 1972 and a gymnasium was added in 1986.

The school has about 150 students in the ninth through 12th grades. The school was rated average in the 2005-06 School Accountability Report.

The school competes in Colorado High School Athletic Association Class 1A Western Slope League. Boys sports include football, basketball, wrestling and track and field. Girls sports include volleyball, basketball and track and field.
