Variety of sports leagues are available
Craig is known best for its hunting, fishing and snowmobiling outlets, but there's much more to Moffat County's recreational offerings.
The Parks and Recreations Departments offer women's, men's and co-ed teams for softball, soccer, hockey and volleyball.
There's open gym basketball available at 6:30 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, on the east side of town.
For those looking to get in a game in less organized setting can check out the tennis courts on Lincoln Street or at Moffat County High School. There's a public disc golf course at Loudy-Simpson Park, south of town. Woodbury Park has basketball courts and baseball fields, as well.
Thunder Rolls Bowling Center offers leagues five days a week at its new facility.
Parks and Rec also offers the Where the Hell is Maybell? bicycle ride each May. The event calls recreational and advanced riders to make the 30-mile ride from Craig to Maybell. Breakfast awaits riders at the end of the course.
