There are a few other places Moffat County residents call home.

Smaller communities

The town of Lay, located about 19 miles west of Craig, is a clustering of homes on the way to Maybell.

The communities of Blue Mountain, Elk Springs and Massadona -- all between Maybell and Dinosaur on U.S. Highway 40 -- are similar, though Massadona offers a resturant/bar.

Hamilton, about 15 miles south of Craig, is a group of residents who enjoy the country lifetyle while still being close to services.

Wilderness Ranch

This network of homes north of Craig is a popular weekend getaway spot for many Moffat County residents. Many find cabins there they can enjoy in the summer and winter.
